Classroom furniture UK

Furniture planned around learning.

Classroom furniture should support movement, concentration, collaboration and change throughout the school day. Madsen Design helps UK schools, colleges, universities and design teams create practical learning environments with VS educational furniture.

Flexible VS classroom with pupils learning in a variety of furniture settings

More than desks and chairs

Start with how the room needs to work.

A successful classroom is not defined by one fixed layout. It should give teachers and pupils suitable settings for different activities.

Henning Madsen brings more than 30 years of experience within the UK educational furniture market. The process considers pupil age, teaching approach, movement, storage, accessibility, group sizes and how quickly the room needs to change.

Products are selected as part of a coherent environment rather than as isolated items. This helps tables, seating and storage work together throughout daily use.

Planning priorities

Questions worth answering early.

01

Movement and posture

Dynamic seating and varied working positions allow pupils to change posture naturally during the day.

02

Flexible arrangements

Mobile furniture helps a room move between individual work, group learning and whole class teaching.

03

Long term value

Durable construction, repairable products and adaptable layouts support value over many years of use.
