Madsen supply the fabulous Edge Table by Danerka as part of a £70 million re-development for Nottingham Trent University.
The re-development consisted of building a modernised extension between the Newton and Arkwright buildings within the university and was awarded to Hopkins Architects of London. Madsen Design supplied the fabulous Edge table by Pearson & Lloyd, specified through one of our respected dealers Salt and Pegram, for a high-profile dining suite within an extension area of the re-development.
The suite will also be used for functions, conferences and public hire. The University required a contemporary dining table design, able to withstand consistent use, without showing obvious signs of wearing.
A total of 19 Edge tables were manufactured in a bespoke size of 240 x 80 cm and finished in a stunning polished aluminum frame and white glass top. Four additional smaller Edge tables were also supplied for another adjacent area.

The Edge Table, by Danerka
Luke Pearson and Tom Lloyd, the Edge designers, met while studying at the Royal College of Art in the early 1990’s. A partnership was formed through a shared desire to bridge the often disparate cultures of furniture and product design.
The Edge is an elegant table and soft desking system which can be used in café, meeting and boardroom scenarios, as well as cable managed multi-desk office systems. The table surface is available in laminate veneer or glass, flush-mounted within the aluminum frame. Alternatively, it can be sat on top of the frame showing exposed edges as an additional feature of the design.
